Toddlers

Growing Independence

Toddlers are eager to take part: “My turn.” “I do it.” “Again.”

Our toddler environment supports this growing independence with accessible activities, clear routines, and opportunities to make choices. Children practise everyday skills such as using utensils, putting belongings away, caring for materials, and helping at the table.

Hands-on activities encourage exploration and concentration, while stories, art, music, cooking, and outdoor play offer different ways to learn and express ideas.

Educators stay close as toddlers navigate friendships and strong feelings. We acknowledge emotions, set clear boundaries, and model simple words children can use to ask for help or express a need.

There is time to try, repeat, and enjoy the process—with support along the way.
